LAS VEGAS, Nev. – “Sugar” Shane Mosley will take on undefeated “Pretty Boy” Floyd Mayweather Jr. tonight in Las Vegas. HBO’s 24/7 reality series takes a look inside both camps leading up to the bout. Mosley feels he has been overlooked and is ready to test Mayweather.
Also, for the first time ever these boxers undergo Olympic-style performance enhancing drug testing leading up to the bout. What this involves is blood and urine testing at random unannounced intervals by the United States Anti-Doping Agency before the fight.
During the 24/7 series, we get to see the fighters undergo this strict process. We also get to see what happens if a fighter is not able to go to the bathroom. The fighters had to submit up to six random drug tests leading up to the fight.
Mayweather prides himself on being a clean drug-free champion. In 2003, Mosley did test positive for performance enhancers.
