NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Strikeforce will hold an open workout on Wednesday, April 14, at Nashville Mixed Martial Arts beginning at 1:00 p.m. CT. The workout is open to fans and the public, as well as members of the media. If you would like to have a shirt or poster signed or take a photo with a top professional mixed martial artist, this would be a great opportunity.
Fighters attending the open workout include Strikeforce Lightweight Champion Gilbert “El Nino’’ Melendez, MMA star and MTV “Bully Beatdown” Host Jason “Mayhem” Miller, Former University of Tennessee linebacker Ovince St. Preux, hard-hitting Nashville fighter and owner of Nemesis MMA Josh “The Warhammer’’ Shockman, and local rising star and former Marine Dustin West.
Each of these fighters are preparing to compete Saturday night at Bridgestone Arena in downtown Nashville. The event will feature three title fights, all of which will air live on CBS television.
In the main event PRIDE and UFC veteran Dan Henderson makes his Strikeforce debut as he takes on middleweight champion Jake Shields. Gegard Mousasi will defend his light heavyweight title against “King Mo” Lawal, and lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez will take on Japanese superstar Shinya Aoki.
