Ben Saunders, who was scheduled to fight Jake Ellenberger at UFC 111 on Saturday, will now face AKA’s Jon Fitch. Fitch’s original opponent, Thiago Alves was pulled from the fight after a CAT Scan showed irregularity in his brain.

Ellenberger will not fight but will still  be paid his contracted salary. TMZ.com first reported the changes to the “UFC 111: St. Pierre vs. Hardy” fight card, which takes place Saturday night at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. and will air live on pay-per-view.

The report states the problem with Alves involves an artery in his brain. White told TMZ.com that he would by flying Alves to a specialist for further evaluation, but something like this “could be career-ending.”
