CHICAGO, Ill. – Former IFL champion and Pat Miletich protege Ryan McGivern (13-6) is the latest addition confirmed for Bellator Fighting Championships’ upcoming Season 2 middleweight tournament.

McGivern, who has been fighting professionally since 2004,has notable wins over Dennis Hallman, Matt Horwich (twice), and WEC veteran Dan Molina. Most recently, McGivern defeated Geno Roderick via first round rear-naked choke submission at “Adrenaline MMA 2” in Dec. 2008.

Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney commented on McGivern’s addition to the Bellator roster:

“With his experience in a top NCAA wrestling program and in the IFL, Ryan McGivern brings some great credentials to our 185 tournament. With him and the rest of the middleweights that we’ve signed, I can tell you that there are going to be some very exciting fights beginning next month.”

Other fighters so far confirmed for Bellator’s 185 lb. tournament include Bryan “The Beast” Baker, Jared Hess, Sean Loeffler, Matt Major, and Eric Schambari. Stay tuned to ProMMAnow.com for confirmation of the final two competitors in Bellator’s middleweight tournament.
