Alan "The Talent" Belcher lives up to his nickname.

We thought he was nicknamed “The Talent” because of his skills inside the cage, but UFC middleweight fighter Alan Belcher proves he can do more than just fight. He plays the guitar and sings. And he’s pretty damn good at both, to be honest.

ProMMAnow.com interviewed Nashville MMA BJJ coach Shawn Hammonds last week who is a country singer, but Belcher’s style has more of a rock n’ roll and pop feel. His first song here is “Cry Me a River”, a song recently made popular by none other than Justin Timberlake, but originally written in 1953 by Arthur Hamilton.

The second video shows Belcher singing “Say it Ain’t So”, a song from Weezer’s debut album, and written by front man Rivers Cuomo. Enjoy Alan “The Talent” Belcher’s version of both songs and check out www.alanbelcher.net to learn more about the man behind the fighter.

Belcher, now 15-6 in his MMA career, is coming off a big knockout win over Wilson Gouveia at UFC 107 back in December. At only 25 years old, Belcher likely has many more years left as a professional athlete, but it is good to know he really does have “talent” he can fall back on when his fight career is over.

  1. Wow, Belcher is actually really good. I love Weezer. Playing the guitar is not easy. I know cause I use to play the harmonica while my brother played the guitar and I was always jealous of him cause i had fat fingers and couldn’t play.
