Spartan Fighting Championship is Kentucky

Friday night, PROMMA.INFO’s Brian Furby attended the debut show of Spartan Fighting Championship, Kentucky’s newest MMA promotion, in Ashland, Ky. In spite of the late start time of 10:00 p.m., the SFC brought in a crowd of over 800 people, an excellent turnout for a debut show. Drawing from fight teams from Kentucky, West Virginia, and Virginia, the SFC gave fans seven amateur MMA bouts and three grappling matches.

Here are the results from Spartan Fighting Championship’s debut show:

  • Jermain Walker vs. Damon Chilco – Chilco wins via Unanimous Decision (30-27,29-28, 29-28)
  • Thomas Ulyenbroek vs. Jerry Beatty – Ulyenbroek wins via submission (armbar) in Round 2.
  • Ryan Crisp vs. Erik Mullins – Mullins wins via submission (guillotine) in Round 1.
  • Eric Jarvis vs. Chuck Caylor – Jarvis wins via TKO (strikes) in Round 1.
  • Mark Mullins vs. Adam Hagar – Hagar wins via submission (armbar) in Round 1.
  • Skyle Gunoe vs. Jerrod Walters – Walters wins via submission (armbar) in Round 1.
  • Josh Yates vs. Ken Keiffer – Yates wins via submission (strikes) in Round 1.

Presented by MassPro LLC, which is co-owned by Promoter Terry Callahan and Stephens Vale Tudo owner Aaron Stephens, the SFC will return to the Ashland Armory on November 28th for their sophomore show. Fighters interested in competing at any future SFC event are encouraged to register their profiles on the Spartan Fighting Championship website.

As with the first show, the SFC has promised ticket giveaways and VIP table giveaways for people who sign up for the VIP Mailing List prior to the second show.

  1. Reed,

As you may have seen, these results were actually from Spartan’s first event – but in the most recent event, Adam lost to Josh Cooper at 2:30 in the first round via kimura.

I’ll be posting results from Friday’s event within the next few days.

  2. Looking forward to seeing the results, I wish I could have made the show, the first 2 were great

  3. I have the dvd from their 2nd show so I think they would make the video again. I missed this show on the Jan 22nd. I would like to see some results as well.

  4. Yeah ive looked everywhere too. there are two or three posted on youtube. Not sure why they dont post results or have a place to purchase video of the shows.

  5. The results haven’t been posted yet because I haven’t received them from the Kentucky Boxing and Wrestling Authority. As soon as I do, they’ll be posted.
