The highly anticipated first “Arena Rumble” event debuts this Saturday night at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena in Spokane, Wash. The card’s roster consists of a multitude of UFC and Strikeforce veterans, as well as some of the top MMA talent in the northwest.
Former UFC star, and one of the most experienced fighters still active, Jeremy Horn will take on Jason Guida in the co-main event. With a record of 81-19-5, Horn is on a very short list of active fighters with over 100 professional MMA bouts.
Most fans will recognize Guida as the older brother of UFC lightweight Clay Guida, and from his short stint on “The Ultimate Fighter” season 8, where he was dismissed after failing to make weight in the opening episode.
In the co-main event current MFC light heavyweight champion Trevor Prangley will take on the highly experienced Team Extreme submission expert Dennis Reed. Prangley, a northwest native via South Africa, is riding a three fight win streak, including his MFC LHW title win over Emanuel Newton.
The main card will also feature northwest fan favorite, and undefeated, Lyle “Fancy Pants” Beerbohm taking on Josh Martin from Team Wolfpack. Beerbohm, a Spokane native, is coming off of an impressive first round submission victory over Duane “Bang” Ludwig at “Strikeforce – Challenger Series 2” in June. In Beerbohm’s twelve professional fights, only one has gone the distance, with six ending via (T)KO, and five ending by submission.
Weigh-ins for “Arena Rumble” will be held at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena on Friday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. They will be free of charge and open to the public. All of the fighters as well as the ring girls will be present, and they will have plenty of Tapout Arena Rumble merchandise on hand as well.
The promoters are planning on holding a total of fifteen fights in all, seven of them being on the main card. The arena doors will open at 6 p.m. with the undercard starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are still available by contacting TicketsWest.
