On Monday, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) released the official fighter purses for “WEC 42: Torres vs. Bowles” which took place Sun., Aug. 9, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nev.

Although losing his WEC Bantamweight Title via first round knockout, Miguel “Angel” Torres was the highest paid fighter on the card, taking home $25,000 for his main event efforts. His opponent, Brian Bowles, improving his undefeated record to 8-0, took home a base pay of $9,000, plus $9,000 to win, for a total of $18,000.

The low man on the totem pole was Fredson Paixao who lost via split decision to Cole Province in an un-aired preliminary bout. The 8-4 Brazilian earned $2,000 for his second appearance inside the WEC cage.
