PRO MMA (promma.info) has learned that “King Mo” Muhammed Lawal will now face UFC and Pride veteran Mark Kerr on Aug. 28 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Mo.  Kerr is taking the place of Don Frye who pulled out of the fight reportedly due to the change in venue location.

The event, “M-1 Global presents Breakthrough,” will also feature a special attraction sparring session between Fedor Emelianenko and Gegard Mousasi. M-1 Global is expected to issue a press release later today with all the details.

Kerr, who was a former high school state wrestling champion, will face a wrestler of a whole different caliber when he goes against Lawal. Kerr, once one of the most feared heavyweights in the game and a former UFC heavyweight tournament champion, has dropped his last four fights, all in the first round, all in 2008.

Lawal, on the other hand, has won his last four fights (his record is 4-0), all under the Sengoku banner in Japan. This will mark his first fight on U.S. soil.  Stay tuned to PRO MMA (promma.info) for more details on this card.
