Let us know your thoughts.  PRO MMA (promma.info) will be providing a live play by play of all the action tonight beginning at approximately 9pm CST/7pm PST.

Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir
Dusty – That first loss to Mir really irritates Lesnar. He is as motivated as ever and that is scary. I just don’t see Mir doing anything with him. The only way I see Mir winning is if he can take the fight to later rounds and maybe Lesnar is gassing by then. I don’t see that though. Lesnar by TKO 2nd rd.
Denny – I believe that Mir will be riding the momentum of his dominating stand up from his last fight against Nogueira and this will get him in trouble. I don’t think Lesnarwill make a big mistake on the groundagain this time around. I see Lesnar landing a big shot and dominating top control for a GNP win over Mir.
Jack – I think Lesnar will overwhelm Mir. The size andpower will be too much for Mir. First round TKO for Lesnar.

Georges St. Pierre vs. Thiago Alves
Dusty – So hard to go against GSP, but I think Alves is the guy to beat him. I see GSP doing well early, but I think Alves will catch him and hurt him. Other than the first Serra fight GSP really hasn’t been stunned in a fight. He didn’t recover then and Alves has a little more power than Serra to me so I pick Alves by TKO 3rd rd.
Denny – Alves is a beast with fight-ending capabilities with both hands, his feet, and his knees. I don’t think it’s the night for GSP to be de-throned though. GSP will come in andbe prepared for Alves’ stand up prowess, and will implement and stick to the game plan designed by Jackson, earning a tough decision victory over “The Pitbull.”
Jack – I think GSP will be able to counter the power and striking of Alves with technique and wrestling. I see GSP taking him down and beating him up and wearing him down getting the unanimous decision.

Dan Henderson vs. Michael Bisping
Dusty – Obvious wrestling advantage to Henderson. Bisping a is better all around striker to me. Bisping has had his problems with high level wrestlers (Evans, Hamill). Because of that though I think he has worked hard on his wrestling and will out-strike Henderson to win a unanimous decision.
Denny – There has been talk that Bisping may try to take Henderson down in this fight. I think he will abandon this plan quickly, and will find himself defending from the bottom as Henderson drops big punches from the top. Henderson by TKO in Round 2.
Jack – Will “Decision Dan” take it the distance once again? It’s quite possible. Bisping is a handfull but I don’t think he’s quite ready for an Olympic level wrestler like Hendo. Although he could prove us all wrong, I’m taking Hendo via decision.
Fitch-Still really don’t know alot about Paulo Thiago even after his KO of Koscheck. We know Fitch is as tough a fighter as there is and has a great chin.Thiago seems to have a little mystique to him which makes things interesting and I believe he has the skills to submit submit Fitch but that is a long shot. I’ll go with the safe pick and say Fitch by UD

Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher
Dusty – Belcher has improved alot but Akiyama is a step above him at this point. Akiyama by sub rd. 1.
Denny – Both guys have wins over Kang, but will Akiyama suffer from Octagon jitters? Akiyama hasn’t lost since 2005, although there have been a couple of NC’s in there since then. Belcher has been on a roll of late also winning 4 of his last 5 in the Octagon, but will come up short in this one as Akiyamaimpresses in his debut with a submission victory in Round 2.
Jack – Belcher will come through on this one. Belcher will rise to the occasion. With it being Akiyama’s debut at such a large event it may be too much for him. Either way Belcher by first round TKO.

Jon Fitch vs. Paulo Thiago
Dusty – Still really don’t know alot about Paulo Thiago even after his KO of Koscheck. We know Fitch is as tough a fighter as there is and has a great chin.Thiago seems to have a little mystique to him which makes things interesting and I believe he has the skills to submit submit Fitch but that is a long shot. I’ll go with the safe pick and say Fitch by unanimous decision.
Denny – Thiago is coming off a stunning finish of Koscheck, but was losing the stand up battle prior to landing the big shot. Fitch will not follow the Koscheck blueprint in this one and will take Thiago down, which could prove dangerous as Thiago has 7 submission victories out of his 11 wins. I still believe Fitch can dominate on the ground with his superior wrestling and will earn the unanimous decision victory in this one.
Jack – I’m picking Fitch in this one. I see him grinding out a unanimous decision.

Stephan Bonnar vs. Mark Coleman
Dusty – Coleman is a legend and it’s nice to see him on the card for UFC 100. The only reason I am picking Bonnar is because Coleman will likely gas within 3 or 4 min and not have the ability to take Bonnar down were he could be most effective. Bonnar RNC rd 2.
Denny – Talk about a must win situation.  Bonnar was dominated by Jon Jones in his last outing and cannot afford to lose this fight to Coleman.  Coleman is on the tail end of his career, and finds himself in a must win scenario also.  Bonnar will win this one on heart as a gassed Coleman won’t have enough in the gas tank to win the fight. Bonnar via decision.
Jack – Coleman will gas. The only thing Coleman can do is take Bonnar down and ground and pound. That’s not going to work. Bonnar could submit him if Coleman does take him down. I’m gonna go with a Pete Williams replay via head kick KO by Bonnar.

  1. Bonnar is done man! the thing about Coleman, he gasses but somehow survives unless someone like Pete Williams can KO him. Bonnar is not that person, therefore Bonnar lost it. He’s outta here like last year. Sorry bonnar but he needs to find his motivation again. Sad to say after he was involved in the fight that you could say saved the UFC in a sense.
