29-year-old UFC veteran Drew Fickett (36-12) will attempt to get back in the win column tonight, June 27, as he faces former Pride/K-1 fighter Shannon Ritch (43-66) at “Rage in the Cage 129: Eastern Invasion” in Globe, Ariz.

It is hard to believe Drew Fickett, who holds wins over such great fighters as Josh Koscheck, Dennis Hallman, Kenny Florian, and Josh Neer, has lost his last four fights (3 (T)KOs & 1 decision), all in 2009.

He has been fighting professionally for ten years, and 1/4 of all his losses have taken place this year.

The 38-year-old Ritch, who has been fighting professionally for eleven years, has lost his last three fights, also all in 2009.

In the Main Event, local super heavyweight Adam Padilla (3-2) takes on rugged veteran Vince Lucero (19-15-1) for the vacant Rage in the Cage Super Heavyweight Championship. Padilla has two quick first round submissions in the past two months.

Padilla and Lucero both, faced “Chocolate Thunder” JoJo Thompson (5-3-1) in their last bout. Lucero went to a draw with Thompson while Padilla submitted him in the first round.

  1. According to multiple sources, Fickett showed up drunk to the fight and wasn’t allowed to participate. Unfortunate to say the least. One would assume that a lengthy suspension will be imposed.
