After returning from his long lay off with an unsuspected decision loss to Joe Warren, Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto apparently does not want any more time off. This week FEG, the parent company behind Dream and K-1, announced that Yamamoto is set to return. He will face Jae Hee Cheon, a Korean Thai fighter, on July 13th as a part of K-1 World Max 2009.

This will Yamamoto’s fourth fight under the K-1 banner. He currently holds a 1-2 record with his lone win coming against Takehiro Murahama, and losses against Masato and Mike Zambidis.

The Japanese icon will not be the only one bringing some MMA flavor to the K-1 card. His Krazy Bee pupil, Atsushi Yamamoto will face off against Kazuhisa Watanabe, and in the main event K-1 legend Masato will wind down his career against surging MMA veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri.
