Vice President of Affliction Entertainment Tom Atencio, the man who has brought Fedor Emelianenko to fight on American soil now twice, is not only a fight promoter, he has also been inside the MMA ring himself. On June 27th, in his second professional MMA bout, the 42-year-old Atencio will face Randy Hedderick on the under card of Lashley vs. Sapp in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Atencio recently made the comments that UFC President Dana White comes off as a “bully” and a “tough guy” and he would be willing to “fight him at any weight.”

In an interview today on TAGG Radio, Atencio responded to questions about him challenging the UFC President to an MMA fight. Atencio had this to say about the situation,

“I think that fight that was supposed to be between him and Tito, I don’t think that was ever going to happen. You know, I think that was just a big publicity stunt. He used to be a boxing coach / trainer, I don’t know, whatever. So you know, if he was willing to fight Tito why wouldn’t he be willing to fight me? You know, I’m not saying I could beat the guy, but let’s fight, let’s do it. I mean, I think it would be huge for both of us. Sometimes he just comes off as a tough guy and I think if you’re tough, then be tough, if you’re not, then that’s cool. And I’m not saying I’m tough at all. I’m just saying at least I’m willing to step in the ring. I’ll do it.”

MMA fans can see Atencio’s next fight on the “Ultimate Chaos” pay-per-view scheduled for June 27th live from the Mississippi Coast Coliseum. In addition to Bob  Sapp, Bobby Lashley, and Tom Atencio, the card will aslo feature such MMA stand-outs as Pedro Rizzo and Chris Horodecki. You can view the full fight card here.
