The fight card for the Maximum Fighting Championship’s upcoming event, MFC 21: HARD KNOCKS is coming together quite nicely. PRO MMA (promma.info) was notified today by the MFC of the four fights that have so far been set for the May 15th event.
MFC 21 will take place at the River Cree Resort and Casino in Enoch, Alberta, Canada and will air live throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico on HDNet.
IFL and M-1 Challenge veteran, Jake Ellenberger (19-4) will make his MFC debut against Xtreme Couture’s John “The Natural” Alessio (24-13) in a welterweight showdown. Out of Ellenberger’s nineteen victories, twelve are by (T)KO. He is an M-1 Challenge veteran and has won his last two bouts. Alessio would like to get back on track after losing at DREAM 8 to BJJ champion Andre Galvao and to Paul Daley at MFC 19.
David Heath (11-4) who is coming off a very quick first round submission victory over former MFC champion Roger Hollet at MFC 20 will take on Travis “The Gladiator” Galbraith (16-6) in a light heavyweight match. Galbraith is coming off a second round TKO victory over Nick Hinchliffe back in March in King of the Cage.
Aron “The Poster Boy” Lofton (6-1) earned MFC’s “Knockout of the Year” in 2008 with a devastation one-punch KO over Dwayne Lewis at MFC 17. Ironically, that was his only knockout. All of his other wins have been by submission. Lofton will be fighting UFC veteran, Marvin “The Beastman” Eastman (15-9), also in a light heavyweight match. Eastman is thirty-seven years old, in the twilight of his career and coming off two losses.
Finally, in a middleweight showdown, Bryan “the Beast” Baker (9-1), who is on a three fight win streak and having just taken out Rory Singer at MFC 20 in February will take on the undefeated Brad Zazulak (4-0). Baker was just at the The Ultimate Fighter season 10 tryouts PRO MMA (promma.info) covered earlier this week. Zazulak has yet to be taken out of the second round in his professional career with three wins by TKO and one submission win. He defeated Shonie Carter at MFC 14.
