Clay Guida the TUF killer?

PRO MMA (promma.info) has learned that Diego Sanchez (22-2) will meet Clay Guida (25-9) at the TUF 9 finale scheduled for June 20th in Las Vegas at the Palm’s Hotel and Casino. This will be Sanchez’s second fight in the lightweight division; he defeated Joe Stevenson in his first bout at lightweight by UD at UFC 95 in Febuary.

His opponent, Clay Guida most recently won a split decision over TUF 5 winner Nathan Diaz at UFC 94. Now he will get the chance to take out another TUF winner in Sanchez, who was the victor of the first ever season’s middleweight divison.

Both fighters hold wins over solid competition. Sanchez has defeated Karo Parisyan, Nick Diaz and Joe Riggs while competing at welterweight and Kenny Florian in the finale of the aformentioned TUF 1 finale.

Guida who is known as a workman i.e. his nickname ” The Carpenter” holds wins over two TUF winners in Diaz and Mac Danzig (TUF 6). Guida is 5-3 in UFC competiton and has lost some really close decisions along the way.

Sanchez sports a impressive 9-2 record in the UFC having only lost to AKA teammates Jon Fitch and Josh Koscheck both in the welterweight division.

This fight will headline the TUF 9 finale along with the finals in each divison (welterweight and lightweight).
TUF 9 will debut April 1st immediately following the broadcast of Ultimate Fight Night 18 in Nashville.

The show will consist of fighters from the U.K. vs. fighters from the U.S. and will be coached by middleweight contenders Micheal Bisping (UK) and Dan Henderson (US) who will then fight each other presumably at UFC 100 in July.

Anthony Johnson vs. John Howard is the only other scheduled bout for the TUF 9 finale at this point.
