Alistair Overeem states on his website that he will be facing K-1 bad boy, Badr Hari at the New Year’s Eve Dynamite card. Overeem and Hari will fight under K-1 rules on New Year’s.

However, “The Demolition Man” also indicates that the two men will fight under MMA rules in early 2009.

The discussion was who would fight under who’s rules first and Alistair stepped up first! Alistair will fight Badr Hari at K1 Dynamite 31 december under K1 rules! Since Badr Hari challenged Alistair he sees no other option than cause another demolition and knock Badr Hari out! Both fighters agreed to fight in MMA rules early 2009!

Overeem had been trying to secure a rematch Mirko Cro Cop on this card. However, Cro Cop and the Dutchman could not come to terms and engaged in a public war of words.

The fact that Overeem will be fighting under K-1 rules should not cause fans to think this will be a huge mismatch. Overeem had been fighting as a professional kickboxer several years before making his MMA debut.

Hari has become one of the most infamous figures in the world of combative sports in recent weeks. He stomped on the head of a downed Remy Bonjasky in the final match up of K-1 World Grand Prix.

Hari had been K-1’s heavyweight champion in 2007 and 2008. However, K-1 stripped him of his title following his disqualification in the Grand Prix final.

  1. Really though in that last fight it wasn’t near as bad as everyone was making out. It really seemed like he barely touched the guy. Still uncalled for but they made it sound like it was brutal.

  2. its the straight edge symbol, a lot of clubs and bars used to draw a big black X on the hands of underage kids or non drinkers. It turned into the universal symbol for straight edgers
