Jeff “The Snowman” Monson has had a busy month. On December 13 he defeated Ricco Rodriguez at MFA down in Florida.

Just one week later, “The Snowman” was off to Lucerne, Switzerland where he took care of business and brought home the Gold Medal at the FILA World Grappling Championship.

Jeff defeated Brandon Ruiz in the finals 6-1 to capture the gold medal in the 125kg (275lb.) no Gi division. This is the second time Jeff has won. He previously won the Gold at the World Championship in Turkey in 2007.

The second place Silver Medal went to Brandon Ruiz. The third place Bronze Medal went to Loannis Arzoumanidis. And fourth place went to Rodrigo Munduruca.

Other notable wins were Fatal Femmes Fighting Flyweight Champion, Lisa Ward, who took home the Gold in the women’s 48kg division and Meisha Tate of Strikeforce fame who took home Silver in the women’s 72kg division.
