Fans expecting to see Mirko Cro Cop vs Alistair Overeem 2 on the New Year’s Eve Dynamite card will have to wait. The bout, while never officially signed, reportedly has been called off.
Overeem dominated much of the first heavyweight bout before several shots to CroCop’s groin caused their DREAM 6 bout to end as a No Contest. While the fight may have occurred back in September the war of words hasn’t let up.
Following “The Demolition Man” calling out CroCop, the Croatian offered to fight the Dutchman sooner rather than later. However, he preferred it to be in his basement rather than in a ring. Despite both men appearing to be eager to settle their differences, fans will have to wait sometime in 2009 to see the re-match.
