War Gods:  Do or Die will take place on Saturday November 8, 2008 in Fresno, CA at Selland Arena.  There will be a special guest appearance by Roger Huerta.

Great news for MMA hardcores:  A FREE live web stream of War Gods: Do or Die will be available on Sherdog.com as they broadcast live from ringside.

The event will kick off at 6:30 Pacific, and will feature WEC veteran Poppies Martinez and EliteXC vet John Reedy.

Online streams are a great way for these regional shows to gain exposure and gives a chance for these lesser known fighters to get their name out there.  This rising trend in free online streams of MMA events is beneficial for everyone and hopefully the trend will increase even more.

Here’s how the card looks:

Isaac De Jesus (6–0) vs James Cook (3-0)
On an undefeated, 6 fight win streak, “The Sensation” Isaac De Jesus is ready for the primetime in the Jr lightweight title bout. De Jesus started training Tae Kwon Do when he was four years old by his father. Now at 22 years old, Isaac has develop as one of the most powerfully strikers in all of MMA. A win against James Cook will add a championship to De Jesus’ resume and make him one of the sport’s youngest up-and-comers.

James Cook will look to display his veteran Muay Thai skills and put De Jesus’ stand up skills to the test. Cook has numerous Muay Thai accolades including ISKA North American Champion, USMATA Intercontinental Champion, 96 Princess Cup Bronze Medal, and 2x Golden Gloves Champion. Expect fireworks as these two veterans fighters engage in a stand up war.

Marcus LeVesseur (9-2) vs Brian Cobb (13-4)
Featured as apart of “Do or Die’s” Bonus main event, Marcus comes into the fight with an 9-2 record. While wesltling Augsburg College in Minnesota, LeVesseur rolled through his opponents amassing an amazing 155-0 record and became only the 2nd wrestler to remain undefeated through 4 years of competition in the NCAA’s. Levesseur will be looking to put his improved stand-up and world class wrestling to the test as he takes on PFC Lightweight Champion Brian Cobb in a non-title fight.

Brian Cobb is the current Champion and comes into his fight with on a 7 fight winning streak. He’ll look to continue that streak against a game opponent in Levesseur. Cobb is currently the number one ranked fighter in Central California by BloodyMayhem.com. A win against Levesseur would bring Cobb one fight closer to getting his opportunity with the UFC.

Dustin Arden (11-7-1) vs Joey Armstrong (5-1)
Dustin “The Rooster” Arden is a Gladiator and King of the Cage veteran. Arden has ran off two wins since loosing a tiltle belt to Brett Cooper at Pure Combat. The Former Team Rampage fighter will look to add Armstrong to his list of wins. Arden has only had 3 of his fights go to a decision, so look for Arden to come out swinging, trying to finish Armstrong.

Joey Armstrong opened up his career with a decision lost to Wargods’ star Mike Moreno in 2006. Since, Armstrong has ripped off 5 straight wins and is looking to make Arden his next victim. A sixth straight win could land Armstrong as a Wargods star in the up-and-coming organization. Armstrong has been able to finish half of his fights via knockout, so expect Armstrong to come right after the MMA veteran, Arden.

Philip Perez (7-4) vs Roberto Vargas (3-0)
Fighting out of Madera’s “Gil Fight Team”, Philip Perez takes on Vargas after a year lay off. Perez is a WEC and PFC veteran and a submission artist, with 6 of his 7 wins coming via submission. A win over Vargas could put Perez in position to end 2008 on a winning note with a bright outlook for his career in 2009.

Roberto Vargas made his professional MMA debut in 2008 and has not disappointed. Vargas successfully made the transition to MMA from wrestling and currently carries an unblemished 3-0 record. The former Cal State Bakersfield wrestler’s wins have come through knockout, submission, and decision which shows the diverse ways Vargas can win his fights. This will be a very important fight for both fighters as Vargas puts his undefeated record on the line against Perez who will be looking to return to his winning ways. Roberto’s brother Tommy will be making his MMA and Wargods debut as well at “Do or Die”.

Brandon Cash (3-0) vs Liron Wilson (3-1)
Brandon is a Buchannan High wrestler. His stand up has improved while at Buhawe MMA Camp. Cash is 3 and 0 and has a very promising MMA future. As a Heavyweight contender you may see him take on so big names early on.

Lavar Johson (10–3) vs Sean Sauza (2-0)
Lavar Johnson is from Madera CA he started training at 26. He is eight and two in his mma career his was the top heavy weight contender before he blew out his knee in his last fight two years later he is better than ever and he is looking to regain his status as one of the most feared heavy weight striker in the MMA. He is looking forward to testing himself in this sport to see where he’s at. Expect him to be a future MMA Champion.

Sean Sauza is 5 – 0 in Sanctioned fights but only 2 appear on Sherdog. He is from the BJ Pen Camp and will be flying in from the Islands.

Zoila Frausto (0-0) vs Jamie Lynn (0-0)
Zoila Frausto is from Madera CA she started training at tae kwon do at the age of 8 and became a black belt before turning 18.

Camilo Gonzalez (0-0) vs Tommy Vargas (0-0)
Tommy Vargas is a wrestler from Cal State Bakersfield and Pac 10 Champion. He is Brother of Roberto Vargas.
