Chad has an MBA from New York Tech and is a combat veteran who served in the US Marine Corps as a Special Operations Force Reconnaissance Marine. Chad is married with 3 children and currently runs a successful BJJ / Muay Thai / MMA academy in The Woodlands, Texas (www.mmathewoodlands.com). Chad’s rankings include a Brown Belt in Pedro Alberto Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a Black Belt in Traditional Jiu-Jitsu. He fights out of Elite MMA and is trained by 3x World BJJ Black Belt Champion Eric Williams, 33-1 Pro Boxer Lewis Wood, World Muay Thai Bronze Medalist Daniel Kim, and Conditioning Coach Carl Edwards.

Additionally, Chad has competed in many Pancrase and MMA fights with a solid record of wins by submission. Chad’s 142 lb. frame makes for a technical and explosive style, yet he understands how to instruct and develop grappling skills for both light and heavy students. As a former Force Reconnaissance Marine Instructor, U.S. Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor, and a Federal Special Agent Training Officer, Chad has had developed a high level of skill in the instruction of hand to hand combat and self-defense. Furthermore, Chad has had the opportunity to be a part of the development and implementation of many training programs for real world armed and unarmed combat.
