It was announced today MMA veteran, Denis Kang has signed a four-fight contract with the UFC.  Kang will be added to the UFC division in most need of new contenders; middleweight.  Thanks to current UFC Middleweight Champion, Anderson Silva, the division has been cleaned out like a firehose in a birdcage.

The Canadian, Kang, is a former PRIDE FC welterweight grand prix finalist who is both known for his BJJ black belt ground game as well as explosive striking.  Kang has ended his last two fights in the first round due to strikes.  His last victim was Marvin Eastman at Raw Combat on Oct. 25.

Kang has stated he will be ready to fight by January and has made it clear he would like a shot at Anderson Silva and the title.  He holds a record of 31-10-1.

“It feels great man,” said Kang. “It’s brought me a new level of focus and motivation even higher because now I know I’ve got some work to do. It reminds me of when I first signed with a big league in Japan -– I was like this is serious now and I’ve got to get my shit together.”
