The Daily Pilot, a news site from the Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area, is reporting, “A Huntington Beach woman who was more than 16 weeks pregnant and who police said was injured in a hit-and-run crash with mixed martial artist Quinton “Rampage” Jackson on the 55 Freeway two weeks ago has had a miscarriage, her fiance said Friday.”  California Highway Patrol officials said that Jackson’s truck sideswiped the lady’s vehicle while doing about 45 miles-per-hour.

The lady and her fiance have hired an attorney but have not taken any legal action against Jackson as of now.  Prosecutors for the state have not filed charges against Jackson yet either most likely due to the fact they are waiting until all evidence and medical reports have been turned in and assessed.  Prosecutors would not comment whether or not there may be potential charges due to the lady’s miscarriage.

Evidently the lady, Holli Griggs, 38, had been pregnant with a boy.  Her fiance stated that “no amount of money would bring his son back.”  Griggs had gotten an ultrasound just days before the crash and everthing was fine but doctors became concerned when after the accident she lost a lot of fluid from her womb.  Jackson is free on bail.

PRO MMA recently talked with Quinton’s brother who said that Quinton had been under alot of stress and thought that he probably just needed some time away and to himself.  That makes perfect sense considering the meteoric rise in popularity and attention he’s received here in the U.S. since first becoming the UFC Light-Heavyweight Champion by defeating Chuck Liddell.  After having so much adoration poured upon himself from newly-found UFC fans and then losing his title to Forrest Griffin had to be a hard pill to swallow for the Memphis native.  Even though the full reasons behind why the apparent “meltdown” took place are still unknown, the title-loss to Forrest could not have helped the situation.
