Despite watching an amazing fight on Saturday, we are hearing crazy talk again from the mma community. Talk of Chuck Liddell vs. Forrest Griffin in December… did you forget about Lyoto? Well, we just might after his recent rant about the Griffin / Jackson fight. Is he hanging out with Terrell Owens?
Please don’t forget Shogun Rua only has one real loss (the other being from a dislocated elbow while being taken down by Mark Coleman).
Oh and Chuck you have to beat an undefeated fighter in Rashad Evans. Now some may think it’s an easy win for Chuck; however, there’s something to be said for the swagger of an undefeated fighter. Know that this may very well be the breakout fight Evans needs to become a top guy.
Let’s not forget Thiago Silva with his unblemished record; it seems he is being groomed by Joe Silva. Then we have Wanderlai Silva hunting down Rampage and seeking to give him another loss that would boost Silva, the former Pride king, back on the new throne in the UFC. Remember once a king never a peasant. What can you do but sit back and enjoy however all this unfolds. Whoever fights, whoever is a PPV main event; this division has “tournament” written all over it and that’s more PPV buys for the UFC.
How about the UFC’s latest stunt with Anderson fighting Irvin on that same day as the Affliction card. Well to say Anderson has no place at 205 is just as smart as picking Kimbo over Fedor. You just don’t do something that foolish.
As for the “2nd” most famous Philippino in Brandon Vera; time will tell if he is really a 205er or a pretender. But one thing is for sure and you can take this to the banks as far as the light heavyweights in the UFC are concerned; they are all one fight away from being in a title fight!
