According to  ESPN: The Magazine Chuck Liddell’s opponent for the UFC’s Atlanta debut will be none other than the Sugar man himself, Rashad Evans. Iceman and Sugar……whaddaya get? Icecream! So it should be one sweet fight right? Ok enough of that. Seriously though, it should be a good fight. This fight was supposed to take place at UFC 85 but was one of the many matches that got cut due to injuries. One interesting characteristic of this fight is that Rashad’s good friend and training partner, Keith Jardine, beat Chuck Liddell not too long ago in a three round decision. And in a way he showed people how to outscore Chuck in points. Whether Rashad will use a similar gameplan as Jardine is not known but it definitely can’t hurt him to be so close to someone who did beat the Iceman.

Rashad Evans is still undefeated in twelve fights with one draw against Tito Ortiz. Chuck Liddell is 21-5. Rashad is on the precipice of greatness. Chuck is fighting to stay in title contention. If Rashad could get a win over a legend like Chuck, it could do wonders for him and it could also move him one step closer to a Light Heavyweight Title shot. It’s a very interesting match up with very different styles. Sounds good to me. I can’t wait.
