Rich Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva II is slated for UFC 147 main event

Vitor Belfort's replacement has finally been announced as he had to pull out of the UFC 147 main event fight against Wanderlei Silva. Rich Franklin (28-6) will step in to face Wanderlei Silva (34-11-1) at UFC 147 in June. This will be the second time that these two men meet in the octagon with Silva will now getting a chance to avenge his previous loss to Franklin at UFC 99. Read More »

Matt Brown vs. Luis Ramos added to UFC on FX 4 on June 22nd

A new fight has been added to the UFC on FX 4 card, Matt “The Immortal” Brown (14-11) will take on Luis Ramos (19-7) welterweight bout in June. The fight was announced by Matt Brown today on his Facebook and Twitter pages, originally various reports suggested that Ramos would be facing Matt Riddle at the event but he was unable to take the fight due to reasons unknown at this stage. The UFC returns to the U.K. on Sept. 29th at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena

This past weekend it was announced that the UFC will be returning to the U.K. on September 29th. No official broadcasting plans have been made yet but various rumours suggest that it may be a UFC on Fuel TV event. The event will take place at the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England. If the show is on Fuel TV it will air live internationally, this is a welcome benefit linked to the Fox deal which was made earlier this year. In the past shows held within the U.K. Have aired via tape delay in the U.S. But this would no longer be the case allowing fans to tune into the action as it happens. Read More »

Dana White says UFC will begin their own PED testing.

UFC President Dana White recently told the LA times that UFC will begin to do their own drug testing for performance enhancing drugs (PED's). The need for extra testing of UFC athletes has been continually in the news after Alistair Overeem’s removal from UFC 146 after a high testosterone to epitestosterone ratio showed up from a random drug test. Overeem’s subsequent removal caused an avalanche of changes for the UFC 146 card. Read More »

Claude Patrick vs. James Head will take place at UFC 149 in Canada

A new fight has been added to the UFC 149 card, Claude Patrick (14-2) will face James Head (8-2) in a welterweight match-up in July. The fight was announced by UFC officials today. UFC 149 will take place on July 21st at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Alberta, Canada. The event will be headlined by a featherweight title bout between current champ Jose Aldo and challenger Erik Koch. The main card will air on PPV with the prelims expected to air on FX and Facebook.
