Is Bobby Lashley finished with pro wrestling?

Bobby Lashley may be done with professional wrestling once and for all. On Monday’s TNA Impact broadcast on Spike TV, Lashley walked into the ring with his wife Kristal to deliver a message to Hulk Hogan and the audience.

He let his wife do the talking. To summarize her message, she basically said MMA was a legitimate sport and professional wrestling was for “in-bred toothless hillbillies”.

She said her husband was a star in MMA and in wrestling and no one can match his strength. She also said her husband wants out of his TNA contract and told the audience, “Go ahead, take a good look at Bobby because this is the last time you may see him. Like I said, we’ve got better things to do.”

Coach’s blog – follow up to ‘when to turn pro’

Thomas Campbell
SSF Fighter Thomas Campbell

Editor’s note: In Ron Dayley’s Oct. 19 “Coach’s blog” the subject was “how to know when a fighter is ready to turn pro.” This is a follow up to that article.

Thomas Campbell of SSF Submission Academy Clarksville, Tenn., and Steven Durr of SSF Murray, Ky., both fought in the HooknShoot 8 Man 145lbs Tournament.

We knew that the competition was going to be tough and we started training for it a month out.  Since we didn’t know who or what order they would be fighting we worked on everything, especially conditioning since the winner of the tournament could possibly fight a total of 9 rounds.

Coach’s blog – how to know when a fighter is ready to turn pro

When is a fighter ready to turn Pro? I am sitting here thinking about two of my fighters, Thomas Campbell and Steven Durr, both of whom are 145 lbs.

Campbell came to me as a college wrestler with a 3-1 MMA record. When he first joined us it was after he had fought my guy Durr. Campbell won that fight via decision. He was a pure wrestler at the time. He is now 12-2; both losses have been to decisions.

He had his first Muay Thai match a couple of months ago and won that. He is training in BJJ and is a totally different fighter then when he came to us. Since joining us he has won the SSF Invitational and the KYFC 145 lbs. title.

Although BJJ phenom Robert Drysdale has had only one amateur MMA fight, apparently he’s ready to give it a go in the professional ranks.

The Fight Zone, Inc. sent out a press release today announcing that Robert Drysdale will be turning professional within MMA.

His announcement to turn pro is not surprising.  What’s even more surprising to some is he even bothered having an amateur MMA bout at all.
