Former LSU fullback Shawn Jordan (13-4) was one of the Strikeforce heavyweights who made the the transition to the UFC last year. Since competing inside the Octagon, the 28-year-old Jordan has gone 1-1, knocking out Oli Thompson at UFC on FX 2, and most recently, dropping a decision to Cheick Kongo at UFC 149. Jordan will return to action on Saturday when he faces Chicago lawman Mike Russow on the UFC on FOX 6 preliminary card live on FX. UFC 147 weigh-ins took place today at the Estadio Jornalista Felipe Drumond in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. Rich Franklin steps in on short notice replacing Vitor Belfort to take on familiar foe and Brazilian native Wanderlei Silva. Rich Franklin talks UFC 147, motivation to keep fighting and one more title run

As former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin gears up to face Wanderlei Silva in a rematch this weekend at UFC 147, the former champ participated in a media conference call Tuesday and talked about the possibility of ring rust, his motivation to keep fighting and his desire to make one more run at the 185 pound title before he retires. The UFC 147 event that's set for Saturday night in Brazil will feature a heavyweight matchup between top ten heavyweight Fabricio Werdum and the always tough Mike Russow. It should be a good fight as Werdum has won four of his last five since losing to the then unknown and now current UFC Heavyweight Champ Junior dos Santos.
