Welterweights Dom Steele and Ryan Thomas kick off XFC 27 main card in Michigan

The XFC will crank the heat up in the L.C. Walker Arena, when they kick off Frozen Fury with a Welterweight showdown between Dominique Steel and Ryan Thomas. The Steele/Thomas match-up kicks off the televised portion of XFC 27: Frozen Fury, LIVE on AXS TV from Muskegon, Michigan. “The Tank Engine” Thomas looks to add to his current five fight win streak, while his opponent, Dom Steele, looks to raise his MMA stock with a win over the talented and dangerous XFC standout.

XFC 27 ‘Frozen Fury’ takes promotion to Michigan for the first time

Fresh off the success of Night of Champions III in Nashville, Xtreme Fighting Championships has now set its sights on a new territory. December 13, 2013 will mark the traveling promotions first trip to the Northern U.S., when XFC 27: Frozen Fury invades Muskegon, Michigan. The weather outside will be frigid, but the action inside the LC Walker Arena will be red hot when XFC President John Prisco and crew treats the crowd to 12 action packed fights.

Junior Assuncao to meet Daniel Swain in XFC 27 main event live on AXS TV

The contracts are signed and the Featherweight Main Event is set for XFC 27 in Muskegon, MI Live on AXS TV Friday Dec. 13th. Former XFC Lightweight World Champion Junior Assuncao (14-5) returns to the cage ready to face off against newly signed 22 year old Daniel Swain (10-2). The two will collide in the headlining fight, just after the Featherweight Co-Main event which will decide the new champion in the division. As if any more incentive is needed, a new title holder being crowned just 1 fight prior their time to shine is sure to give the two fighters an even bigger reason to get the win that night.

Injuries happen. Promoters, fighters and fans have all learned to accept this reality. But, what many people seem to forget is, fighters are also human, and a simple illness can sneak up on you at the worst possible time. Junior Assuncao signs deal with XFC

In 2010, Assuncao, a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Black Rope in Capoeira, defeated John Mahlow to capture the XFC Lightweight Championship. Before being able to defend his new title, Assuncao was offered the opportunity to return to the UFC, so with the blessing of XFC President John Prisco, Junior was let out of his contract and he respectfully vacated his belt.

Ian Stephens vs. Ryan Thomas set for XFC 25: ‘Boiling Point’
