JEWELS is an all female MMA promotion that was born out of the death of the “Smackgirl” promotion.  Smackgirl began in 2001 and held over 50 MMA and grappling events before running into money problems earlier this year.

Along with Valkyrie, there are now two organizations trying to fill the gap for female mma in Japan.  JEWELS’ first event was held on November 16 in Shinjuku Face, Tokyo.
