Rashad Evans (No. 4 LHW) vs. Thiago Silva (No. 8 LHW)

BRIAN FURBY: In spite of the fact I wish that one of the other 12 original main event match-ups were still going down, I’m looking forward to this fight. Both guys are quick strikers with good power and have solid all-around games. I think Silva packs more power, but I do think Rashad has a slight edge on speed and technicality while also being more elusive. I don’t think the fight is likely to hit the ground – both guys want an impressive victory to get another shot at Machida, and Rashad also has the added factor of still wanting a piece of Rampage. I think the first round will see a lot of range-testing and maybe some quick flurries where one or both guys look in danger, but in the end, I see Rashad finishing it about halfway through the second. Rashad by TKO in Round 2.

ProMMA.info’s “Strikeforce: Evolution” staff picks

“Strikeforce: Evolution” takes place tonight, Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. The main televised portion of this card is stacked with stars. It is a card that any true MMA fan should be thrilled with.

It was even better until Robbie Lawler got pulled off, but even still, it is more than solid. I wish it were five fights on the Showtime card instead of just four but, whaddaya gonna do? At least it’s free, right?

Well, the ProMMA.info staff put our heads together once again to give our picks on who we think will win and why. We’re starting to develop some rivalries here, and from what I hear 2010 is gonna get downright competitive.

The one known as Richard Mann has called out Cageside Beat host Brian Furby and said, “Furby is going down this time.” As for Furby, he has remained quiet so far, and has preferred to let his intricate knowledge of the sport do his talking up to this point. He went a perfect 5-0 at UFC 107, and will be looking for a repeat performance. The Info co-host “Fast Eddie” has been sidelined for awhile but will be looking to bounce back with some correct picks of his own this time. Without further ado, let’s get it on fellers!

“The Ultimate Fighter 10 Finale” airs Saturday, Dec. 5, 2009, on Spike TV. The TUF 10 finalists Brendan Schaub and Roy Nelson will face off for a six-figure UFC contract, and Matt Hamill will face Jon “Bones” Jones in the headliner. Here are the ProMMA.info staff picks for the “TUF 10 Finale.”

Mark Bocek (156) vs. Joe Brammer (155)

DENNY HODGE: Bocek is a seasoned UFC veteran while Brammer is making his first appearance in the Octagon. Both guys have earned most of their victories by submission but this one will go to decision with both guys neutralizing each other on the ground. Bocek will continue his winning ways with a unanimous decision victory over the UFC newcomer.

Chuck Liddell pencil drawing

You know those kids in school who would always be doodling and drawing during class? No matter what the teacher was teaching, you could look over at them and they wouldn’t be doing their work, but when you saw their paper at the end of class they would have some bad ass picture drawn. That’s … Read more
