Dave Herman ready to get serious about MMA career – PRO MMA exclusive

To say that heavyweight MMA fighter, Dave “Pee Wee” Herman is a talented athlete is an understatement. The guy is nothing short of phenomenal. For anyone to come into professional mixed martial arts and go 13-0 by relying mainly on their natural ability is quite the feat. That is exactly what Dave Herman did.

However, Dave finally met his match in his last bout on January 4, 2009 when he took on Mu Bae Choi at Sengoku: ‘No Ran 2009’ in Japan. It looked as though Dave would finish Choi in the first round just like he had done all but one of his other opponents, but the Korean was very tough and survived. Dave ended up gassing in round two and Choi was able to take advantage and get a TKO victory. In a little over two years as a professional fighter, it was Dave’s first defeat.

War Machine arrested at gay club in Las Vegas

The fighter formerly known as Jon Koppenhaver, now legally known as War Machine (6-2), has been arrested in Las Vegas, NV. Was he trying to carry out the presidential assassination he recently endorsed on Myspace? Did the SWAT team have to be called in to handle this violent free-speech patriot? No, rather he was put under citizen’s arrest on charges of misdemeanor battery according to initial reports.

Jay Rivera, a representative with the Public Information Office of the Metro Police Department, confirmed that Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver was arrested Saturday, February 8 at approximately 4 a.m. local time. According to Rivera, a citizen’s arrest was made of Koppenhaver on charges of misdemeanor battery.

It was later found out and reported by TMZ that the incident went down at Krave Nightclub, which is locally known as a ‘gay bar.’ Police told TMZ that club security was escorting War Machine out of the club when he alledgedly turned and started punching them. Krave security then put him under citizen’s arrest untill police could arrive.

Bellator Fighting Championship announces first two exclusive fighters

Bellator Fighting Championships is the first MMA organization to secure a TV deal with any member of the ESPN family of networks.

Beginning in April, Bellator will showcase their MMA fighters in a tournament format. The best will fight the best each week to determine who rises to the top and becomes Champion, and who collects the largest purses. And all of this will be available on free TV through ESPN Deportes.

Bellator has announced they signed American Top Team’s Hector Lombard, a former Olympic Judo competitor and Cuban national champion, to an exclusive fight contract. At 185 pounds, Hector has amassed a highly respectable record of 17-2-1 with his only losses coming by way of decision to Akihiro Gono and Gegard Mousasi in the PRIDE organization.
