Kevin Jordan defeats Patrick Smith in UFC veterans Super Fight and Gordon submits Lamotte at American Steel Cagefighting debut

Headlining American Steel Cagefighting’s inaugural show in Salem, New Hampshire Friday night, July 31, was a welterweight match-up between Doug “Flash” Gordon and Nate “The Future” Lamotte. Lamotte started off strong with a takedown and some ground and pound, but as soon as Gordon was able to get back to his feet he sunk in an arm-in guillotine for the tapout victory at just 2:01 of round one.

Other featured bouts on the card included a lightweight co-main event with Pat Audinwood taking on Al Buck and a Super Fight with UFC veterans Kevin Jordon (fought at UFC 53, 56) and Patrick Smith (fought at UFC 1,2,6) battling it out for heavyweight supremacy.

American Steel Cagefighting show streaming free this Friday July 31

SALEM, New Hampshire (July 29, 2009) – Friday night’s (July 31) inaugural American Steel Cagefighting’s (ASC) mixed martial arts show, headlined by Manchester welterweight Nate “The Future” Lamotte (10-4-0), of Manchester, against Doug “Flash” Gordon (9-7-0) will be “streamed” live, for free, from the Icenter in Salem, New Hampshire.

The fights will be “streamed” on www.americansteelcagefighting.com, but blacked out locally, and available by simply submitting first names and corresponding email addresses on the web site.

Lamotte vs. Gordon headlines inaugural American Steel Cagefighting event on July 31

SALEM, New Hampshire (July 27, 2009) – Manchester welterweight Nate “The Future” Lamotte headlines Friday night’s (July 31) inaugural American Steel Cagefighting’s (ASC) mixed martial arts show against dangerous Doug “Flash” Gordon (9-7-0) at the Icenter in Salem, New Hampshire.

Lamotte (10-4-0), who is part owner of Team Burgess in Manchester, started learning mixed martial art disciplines when he was eight, transferred it over to combat fighting with the rising popularity of UFC, and has been training to fight in the cage for the past four years.

Lamotte (10-4-0) headlines against dangerous Doug “Flash” Gordon (9-7-0) in the main event, while Schieding (3-1-0) meets Carlos Nieves (3-6-0), and McQuaid will make his pro debut against Brian DeMuro (4-6-0).

UFC pioneer Patrick Smith to face Kevin Jordan in super fight on July 31

UFC pioneer Patrick Smith was there at the beginning and 16 years later the ageless wonder is still going strong as he prepares to fight another UFC veteran, super heavyweight Kevin “The Shamnan” Jordan (11-8-0), in the Super Fight on American Steel Cagefighting’s (ASC) first professional mixed martial arts show, July 31 at the Icenter in Salem, New Hampshire.

Smith (16-13-0), now fighting out of Milburn, Oklahoma, lost a tough fight to Ken Shamrock in UFC 1. He came back strong in UFC 2, winning three fights in a row, before eventually losing in the championship match to legendary Royce Gracie. Patrick’s most notable wins have been against Rudyard Moncayo in UFC 6 and last year versus Eric “Butterbean” Esch.
