Former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir showed a lot of guts and fortitude in surviving a massive onslaught by Alistair Overeem in their UFC 169 matchup on Saturday night. The UFC 169 PPV event went down on Saturday night in Newark, New Jersey, at the Prudential Center. The main event saw UFC bantamweight champ Renan Barao stop Urijah Faber via TKO in the first round, however, the bout wasnt’ without controversy as many believe the stoppage was premature. The co-main event saw UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo successfully defend his title for the sixth time, winning a unanimous decision easily over Ricardo Lamas.
