Chris “Lights Out” Lytle – TLOS exclusive interview

Chris “Lights Out” Lytle is known for being a tough fighter and giving any opponent all they can handle within the world’s premier fighting organization. This evening Lytle appeared on the popular MMA radio show that coincidentally bears the same namesake, The Lights Out Show (www.thelightsoutshow.com), a content partner of PRO MMA (http://promma.info) where he talked about his upcoming fight and how he juggles work with his MMA career.

Lytle recently signed a new four-fight contract with the UFC. Apparently they noticed what many of the rest of us have noticed, Chris Lytle is fighting with what seems like a new found passion. When asked to try to explain this new style of fighting he says, “If I go to a decision, I have failed.”

TKO 35 has Canada getting TUF

TKO 35: QUENNEVILLE VS HIOKI features one of the best featherweight fighters in the world and the current TKO World Champion, Hatsu Hioki (15-3-2). He is back to defend his world title against the massively popular local fighter, Thierry Quenneville (12-7-0).  Quenneville has long sought a championship title shot, but some wonder if he has bitten off more than he can chew with Hioki.

The co-main event features Bantamweight Champion, Adrian “The Bully” Wooley (5-0-0), making his first title defense against former Ultimate Fighter reality show cast member, Noah Thomas (11-5-0).  Another incredible fight will feature five-time UFC veteran, Forrest Petz (14-5-0), against one of Canada’s best welterweights, TJ Grant (11-2-0).  Also, recent Ultimate Fighter reality show contestant, Lance Evans (12-2-0), returns to TKO to face Montreal’s own, the very popular Steve Bosse (3-1-0).

Kimbo Slice look-a-like contest

It’s true, there can be only one Kimbo Slice, but it’s also true that today in Miramar, Florida (Thursday morning Oct. 2), there will be a Kimbo Slice look-a-like contest from 6am-9am at Radio Station BIG 105.9 (in the parking lot of Clear Channel Radio Group). The address is 7601 Riviera Blvd., Miramar, Florida 33023. For questions, contact: Toast (954) 734-0921.

I know it’s a little early for Halloween but get your beards ready, shave a design in your chest hair, get your gold chains and gold teeth, shave some lines in your wig, and get on down there to BIG 105.9 and get your Kimbo on. Now if you’re going to imitate Kimbo first of all, do you really think he wakes up at 6am? Damn that’s early. I will say this, you’re a hardcore fan if you make it to this contest! Good luck…and we want pictures!

The UFC is Headed to Ireland – Big Fights Announced

by:  Cory Brady

The UFC has just announced that UFC 93 will take take place in Dublin, Ireland and is all set for January 17th.  This card is already taking shape to be an awesome start to 2009 for the UFC. With two big fights already announced, many fans are salivating at a chance to catch this card and scrambling to make travel arrangements to Dublin.

The first fight announced is a long awaited match up between superstars Rich Franklin and Dan Henderson. Although Henderson fought his last fight at 185 pounds this fight is set to be a light heavyweight contest. Rich recently moved up from 185 to 205 and looked impressive with a win over TUF veteran Matt Hammil and Henderson is a former Pride champion at 205 so the weight should not be an issue for either fighter. If anything it will assure that both men are as powerful as possible in what should be an exciting fight filled with fireworks. This fight should answer a lot of questions about both fighters and the direction they are heading.

TUF 8 – Episode 3 Re-cap

By Denny “The Mad One” Hodge

The 32 has been trimmed to 16, and those 16 earned their way into the TUF House. The episode starts with some background on some of the fighters, then it’s on to the injury update with one LW and one LHW, and their fractured noses. Both Brian McLaughlin and Karn Grigoryan know that there is a possibility that for now, their UFC dreams may be over. Dana lets both fighters know that the NSAC has decided that they cannot compete, and that they have been placed on 180-day suspensions. As a result both must go home, and they respond with some serious silence and stalling prompting Dana to tell them, “You got to walk out that door, there.”

With that business complete, the replacement fighters are to be named and Light-Heavyweight Kyle Kingsbury is the first to be named. The replacement for the LW’s will be a “mystery” fighter, and the coaches agree that he will be the last pick following the team selections.
