ProMMAnow.com’s UFC heavyweight rankings – August 2010

Brock Lesnar is the current ruler of the UFC heavyweight division and also thought to be the number one heavyweight in the world by most analysts.

UFC Heavyweight Rankings (206 to 265 lbs.)

  1. Brock Lesnar (5-1)
  2. Cain Velasquez (8-0)
  3. Shane Carwin (12-1)
  4. Junior dos Santos (11-1)
  5. Frank Mir (13-5)
  6. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (32-6-1, 1 NC)
  7. Roy Nelson (15-4)
  8. Mirko Filipovic (27-7-2, 1 NC)
  9. Cheick Kongo (15-6-1)
  10. Gabriel Gonzaga (11-5)

Numbers 1-6 are fairly straightforward, but it gets a bit tricky on 7-10. Upcoming fights between Lesnar and Velasquez, Nelson and dos Santos, as well as the rematch between Nogueira and Mir are bouts that will have major implications on the top ten UFC heavyweights.
