What’s worse than going to jail for a bar fight in Arkansas? How about telling the arresting officer you will kill him and his whole family, including his kids.

According to a report on MMAJunkie, that’s exactly what TUF 10 veteran Mike Wessel (6-2) did over the weekend in Jonesboro, Ark.

Wessel became irate during the car ride to the detention center and began making threats when its jailers attempted to restrain him, according to an arrest report.

“Several jailers and a deputy arrived and placed [Wessel] into the restraint chair,” McClard read from Stout’s police report. “He began making death threats toward me and my family, and said that he was going to kill me and my kids.”

Wessel was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication, disorderly conduct and first-degree terroristic threatening. He could face up to six years in prison for the threatening charge and one year each for the public intoxication and disorderly-conduct charges.

Starting his pro MMA career in 2007, Wessel was on a six fight win streak until he got knocked out by Antoni Hardonk (8-6) at UFC 92 in Dec. 2008.

His next and most recent fight was against Dan Christison (18-7) in the Canadian Fighting Championship back in February. Christison submitted Wessel via kimura in the third round.

The government really likes to throw around the word terrorist/terrorism now. It was all good when they had us thinking that 19 muslims pulled off 911…then, they slowly changed the definition of what a terrorist is. Now, they are arresting people for DUI as domestic terrorist as well as arresting people for assault with domestic terrorism charges…those are just 2 arrest here in Indiana that I have read about in the past month. I guess that is what we get when our elected representatives pass a bill (The Patriot Act) without reading what the hell was in it…
