MESCALERO, N.M. – Undefeated heavyweight and Bully Beatdown star Nick “Afrozilla” Gaston (2-0) will take a step up in competition to face “The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights” veteran Darrill Schoonover (10-1) at “King of the Cage: Honor”, which will air live on HDNet, Friday, May 14, from the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino.
ProMMAnow.com was notified of the bout on Wednesday from Gaston’s manager, Mike Camp.
“Afrozilla” is coming off an impressive performance that ended in a keylock submission victory over Mike Guidry (2-1) at “KOTC: Legacy”, and aired live on HDNet, March 26.
Prior to that, he won a unanimous decision over Boban Simic (7-4) in October 2009, and fought Michael Westbrook (1-1) to a “no contest” last July.
Schoonover’s last bout was against his “Ultimate Fighter” cast mate James McSweeney (4-4) at the “TUF 10 Finale” in December 2009. It was a competitive match but McSweeney’s striking made the difference and won him a TKO victory in the final round.
Prior to his stint on “The Ultimate Fighter”, Schoonover had been on a 10-fight win streak.
