Roy Jones Jr. vs. Danny Green – full fight

If you haven’t seen this whole fight yet, well, here it is. The intro is about ten times as long as the fight. The bout starts at about the 19:00 mark. Australian Danny Green stops Roy Jones Jr. just two minutes into the first round.

After the bout, Danny Green can be overheard saying to one of his corner men, “Somebody pinch me!” In the post fight interview, the very classy Green says he felt almost embarrassed to win over someone he respects so much. I HIGHLY recommend watching the post fight interviews in their entirety. Sadly, Roy says he will probably go back into retirement.

It was a great win for Green, and the talk is maybe he could fight Bernard Hopkins next. MMA fans will remember UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva as wanting to fight Roy Jones Jr. in a boxing match. However, UFC President Dana White has shot down the possibility as long as the champ remains under contract with the UFC.

Unlike Hopkins RJ is not a fighter who ages well in the ring. I’ve seen him comeback in past fights after being hit with hard shots.
