UFC 105 conference call audio & quotes

ProMMA.info was on the line with the UFC 105 conference call today as Dan Hardy, Mike Swick, Michael Bisping, and Denis Kang fielded questions from the MMA media.

Each of the fighters are part of the UFC 105 main card, headlined by Randy Couture vs. Brandon Vera, and which takes place in Manchester, England, on Saturday, Nov. 14, and will air via tape delay on Spike TV.

UFC 105 Conference Call:

Dan Hardy

“With all due respect, I don’t think he [Mike Swick] is better than me in any area.”

“I want 15 minutes of war until one of us hits the canvas.”

“It’s certainly looking that way.” (Hardy responding to a question if his next fight could be a title shot against GSP with a win over Swick)

Mike Swick

“I’m not gonna go out there and be afraid to get hit.” (Swick talking about coming back after receiving a concussion in training)

“Yeah, that’s what they’re saying. I think the winner of this fight does fight GSP. Right now I’m focusing on this fight Nov. 14.”

Michael Bisping

“It was a tough loss and the first one in my career that ended like that… It certainly hasn’t affected me as a fighter as certain people have speculated, as far as being gun shy, nothing could be further from the truth.”

“I’m certainly putting a lot of pressure on myself. – I’ve got to come back with a good solid win. – I’ve completely devoted my life to this. – The pressure I put on myself is unbelievable. – Nobody wants to lose two in a row, especially me.”

“You’re only as good as your last performance and my last performance wasn’t my best.”

“I’ve been doing jiu-jitsu since I was eight years old.”

“To be honest I haven’t really watched it that close. My coaches have watched it.” [His fight with Hendo]

“It’s got to happen some day. It wasn’t my night.”

Denis Kang

“Yeah, I guess you could  say this is one of the biggest fights of my career.”

“The thing I like most about the UFC is you get to know your opponents months in advance. – I think there’s a higher level of professionalism.” [What Denis likes more about the UFC than the Japanese organizations]

“Some people never really come back from knockouts, but then some come back as better fighters. – You never really know until you get in there.” [Kang's thoughts on how Bisping will bounce back after his KO loss to Henderson]
