The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) today voted unanimously to ban therapeutic use exemptions for testosterone replacement therapy. That means guys like Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen, Dan Henderson and others who have previously received exemptions in the state will no longer be permitted to use the hormone treatment.
The man of the hour, 36-year-old veteran Vitor Belfort (23-10), who just got done knocking out his second straight top-10 middleweight in the last five months, has issued an apology for the way he reacted to questions about TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) at the UFC on FX 8 post-fight press conference Saturday night.
Following Vitor Belfort’s devastating knockout of Luke Rockhold in the UFC on FX 8 main event Saturday night, the fighters gathered for the traditional post-fight press conference at Arena Jaraguá in Jaraguá do Sul, Brazil. Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza who made a very impressive UFC debut, was also in attendance, as was Gleison Tibau and others.
Now there’s no need to get into a Theological debate. Can’t we just enjoy the fact a 36-year-old former UFC light heavyweight champion believes God is on his side in this fight? Why the Big Man forsook him in the Jon Jones and Anderson Silva fights we don’t know. Nor do we need to know…. mysterious ways and all that.
