Roy "Big Country" Nelson took time out following his open workout Wednesday at the MGM Grand to talk with ProMMAnow.com and other members of the media regarding his thoughts on TRT and steroids in MMA. Dana White says UFC will begin their own PED testing.

UFC President Dana White recently told the LA times that UFC will begin to do their own drug testing for performance enhancing drugs (PED's). The need for extra testing of UFC athletes has been continually in the news after Alistair Overeem’s removal from UFC 146 after a high testosterone to epitestosterone ratio showed up from a random drug test. Overeem’s subsequent removal caused an avalanche of changes for the UFC 146 card. Read More »

UFC 146 preview: Shane del Rosario and Stipe Miocic battle to stay undefeated

The all heavyweight main card at UFC 146 will feature a bout between two quickly rising heavyweight prospects in Shane del Rosario and Stipe Miocic. Both fighters are undefeated and have decorated backgrounds with Rosario being a former kickboxing champion, and Miocic a former Golden Gloves winner and national wrestling champion at Cleveland State University. The UFC has announced three featherweight matches for UFC on FOX 4 which takes place August 4th in Los Angeles, California. In each of the three announced matches, each featherweight fighter is looking to get back in the win column and rebound from a previous loss. Claude Patrick vs. James Head will take place at UFC 149 in Canada

A new fight has been added to the UFC 149 card, Claude Patrick (14-2) will face James Head (8-2) in a welterweight match-up in July. The fight was announced by UFC officials today. UFC 149 will take place on July 21st at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Alberta, Canada. The event will be headlined by a featherweight title bout between current champ Jose Aldo and challenger Erik Koch. The main card will air on PPV with the prelims expected to air on FX and Facebook. The UFC 146 event will feature all heavyweights on the main card and in this preview we will be previewing the Stefan Struve vs. Lavar Johnson match that's set to take place on Saturday night in Las Vegas. It's an interesting matchup between a relatively young guy in Struve against an older fighter in Johnson that's really hitting his stride late in his career. The ACL injury to UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz set off a domino effect to the UFC 148 card. Urijah Faber and Cruz were supposed to setting their trilogy at the event, but now it was announced that Renan Barao will replace Cruz and fight Faber for the UFC Interim Bantamweight title instead. The official UFC Twitter account released the information that Menjivar will now be facing Mike Easton at UFC 148. Read More »
