Long Beach Fight Night returns on Oct. 19

Their first show was a huge success and now Long Beach Fight Night is back for round two. Come and experience the competitive world of full contact Mixed Martial Arts at Southern California’s premier evening of action packed entertainment.

Fully sanctioned by the California State Athletic Commission, combatants clash toe 2 toe matching skill, heart, and guts to see who will be left standing victorious. Many local area fighters will compete to stake their claim as one of “Long Beach Fight Night’s Toughest.”

Destiny: The Beginning is set to take place on October 18th, 2008 at the Waipahu Filcom Center in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii. An awesome card featuring 10 inter-island bouts headlined by 4 Pro MMA bouts.

Thomas Sedeno an explosive striker out of Bullspen is looking to make his mark in the 170lb division against LAVA MMA’s Chris Cisneros. Former Judoka Brandon Pieper battles Maui’s Kurrent Cockett in a match-up of dynamic 140 lb studs. Another 140 lb bout taps undefeated submission artist Mark Tajon against Kickboxing champ Nui Wheeler, in what may pan out to be the classic grappler vs striker match-up. Self proclaimed street brawler Dirty Curty will take on Micah Ige in a welterweight match up. With an Oahu vs Neighbor Island Theme, we will see these 44 warriors battle for Island Pride and supremacy.

The other side of Junie Browning

Making the biggest impact on this season of The Ultimate Fighter has to be Junie Allen Browning, a 23 year old Kentucky rough neck who’s personality is defnitely “on the edge.”  He can flip from “chill to kill” at the drop of a hat.  Nicknamed, “The Lunatik”, one doesn’t have to wonder how he got that moniker.

Junie is the young fellow Dana White was referring to when he said, “He makes Chris Leben look like Mother Teresa.”  Junie also talks a big game and the funny thing is, he just might have the skills to back it up…we shall soon see.

Brad Imes headlines Extreme Challenge 109 on Oct. 18

Monte Cox’s Extreme Challenge 109 takes place Saturday October 18, 2008 in Moline, Illinois at the I-Wireless Center, a 10,000-seat arena, located at 1201 River Dr.

The Extreme Challenge returns to the site where it all started 12 years ago… Ultimate Fighter finalist Brad “the Hillbilly Heartthrob” Imes faces Chris Guillen in a heavyweight main event, while two-time NCAA Div. 1 wrestling champion Eric Juergens tries to remain undefeated.

Also featuring Renzo Gracie fighter David Branch and UFC star Rich Franklin’s wrestling coach, Waylon Lowe.

Two title fights highlight MFC 19: Long Time Coming

EDMONTON, AB – The Maximum Fighting Championship’s final show of 2008 is aptly named.
MFC 19: Long Time Coming is just that.

For the first time in the organization’s illustrious history, there will be two title fights on the same card as both the light heavyweight and welterweight championship belts will be on the line Friday, December 5 at The Venue at River Cree Resort and Casino just outside Edmonton, Alberta. The show will be broadcast live on HDNet Fights throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Making a long-awaited first defence of his MFC light heavyweight title is champion Roger “The Hulk” Hollett (8-1) who will face No. 1 contender Emanuel “The Hardcore Kid” Newton (10-3).
