Bruce Connors is a former Marine scout sniper and current law enforcement officer and SWAT officer. Bruce joined The INFO on the recent episode and shared his thoughts on maintaining a balance between serving his community and serving his goals as a professional athlete.
This makes competing in the Mixed Martial Arts arena seem docile by comparison. “I am either working or I am training,” said Connors. “You feel pretty selfish because it takes you away from your family and friends. The pressure can be there but as long as you keep a balance, everything can work.”
“Let’s do it!” That was Lyle Beerbohm’s response when asked by Fast Eddie Constantine on the latest edition of The INFO if he would fight Shinya Aoki for ownership rights to Beerbohm’s famous “shorts of many colors” made by his mother.
This sums up Beerbohm’s desire to face the best lightweights in the world and compete for the lightweight title within Strikeforce. “I want to fight the best lightweights and get the Strikeforce belts,” said Beerbohm. “That is my only goal and whatever gets me there is what I want to do.”

As always, the PROMMA.INFO staff has come together to give you our predictions on the fights.
TYSON GRIFFIN vs. HERMES FRANCA
Jeff Howard: Franca has been under the radar as of late, except for his out of the Octagon troubles. Griffin has shown amazing stand up in his last couple of fights, and will win via ref stoppage in the 1st round.
Eddie Constantine: Griffin by decision in “rinse and repeat” performance of Tyson taking him down, Hermes getting up. Trying to land a big shot and Tyson takes him down again.
Richard Mann: This is starting to seem like a conspiracy. Tyson Griffin always gets matched up with fighters who rely on their Brazilian jiu jitsu. He has the perfect skill set to defeat them. His anti-jiu jitsu will lead him to another decision victory here. Griffin via Decision.
Dusty Adams: Griffin. Griffin is always in an exciting fight as well as Franca. Both are solid on the ground but Griffin is the more technical striker and should win a unanimous decision.
Jack Bratcher: Hermes had to have this fight moved to 159 lbs. That tells me he is not in as good shape as he should be. If you aren’t 100% for Tyson Griffin, you’re in trouble. Tyson is known for grinding out those decisions so, I have to go with Tyson Griffin by unanimous decision.

In Jay Hieron’s recent appearance on The INFO, the official PROMMA.INFO podcast, he spoke about his next fight being for the Strikeforce Welterweight Title. “My next fight is for the title,” Hieron said. “I need eight weeks to prepare and be sharp. I want to fight Nick Diaz if everything goes to plan.”
Hieron said one of the reasons he chose to sign with the San Jose based promotion was because they offered him the title shot. “One of the reasons to decide to go with Strikeforce was I was fighting for the title,” Hieron explained. The UFC offered me a very good deal but I wanted the chance to fight for a title. Nick Diaz is a big name and that’s the type of guy I want to fight right now.”
That title shot was supposed to come on Aug. 15 at “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” where Hieron was scheduled to face Nick Diaz. However, Diaz chose not to take his pre-fight drug screen and was replaced by Jessie Taylor. Not only did Hieron not get a title fight, his fight with Taylor was moved to the un-aired preliminary card.
