The second event of 2014 is here for Bellator MMA and tonight is the night for the heavyweights to start their climb to a tournament finale to go along with a title fight. Bellator 111 takes place at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla. and will feature five heavyweight fights. The headliners tonight will be Eduardo Dantas and Anthony Leone as Dantas defends his bantamweight title.
Weigh-ins for Bellator MMA 111 took place this evening from Mist Nightclub at WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Okla. All fighters are on point for Friday’s event featuring the opening round of the Season 10 Heavyweight Tournament and headlined with a Bantamweight Title bout between champion Eduardo Dantas and challenger Anthony Leone.

Following their light heavyweight tournament semifinal wins at Bellator 110 Friday night, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and King Mo Lawal nearly came to blows inside the Bellator cage live on Spike TV. Mo won his bout over Mikhail Zayats via unanimous decision, while Rampage defeated former champ Christian M’Pumbu via first round KO. Rampage and Mo will now meet in the tournament finals later this season.
Bellator will kick off their Season 10 middleweight tournament beginning March 28 from Utah’s Maverick Center as Brett Cooper battles Kendall “Da Spyder” Grove in the semifinals. And on April 4, Season 8 winner Doug “The Rhino” Marshall takes on American Top Team’s Dan “Cosmo” Cramer in the other semifinal match-up from the Reno Events Center.
The UFC has taken a lot of heat since they implemented their discretionary sponsor tax, which can reportedly run as high as $100,000. This means if the UFC wants to they will charge a company for the right to sponsor any of their fighters. Needless to say, MMA fighter sponsorship opportunities have taken a hit because of this.
