Maturity takes Noah Thomas from banished to big time

Noah Thomas fought nine times in 2006, going 6-3. The Ultimate Fighter veteran was a guest on The INFO episode 32.

WEC fighter Noah Thomas stopped by The INFO last week to discuss a number of topics including his military background, his current WEC status, and how he was able to get back in Zuffa’s good graces after his “street fight” with Marlon Sims on The Ultimate Fighter season five.

Thomas credits his time in the Marines as really helping him to mature and find direction in his life. “I always tell everyone that I was born in Colorado and raised in the Marine Corps,” said Thomas. “Not to take anything away from my parents, but the military helped me become the man I am, the drive and focus to be a mixed martial artist.”

“First I want to say, good job Quinton Jackson” – Cung Le

Cung Le is making the best use of his talents inside and outside the cage.

Former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le’s newest film Pandorum opened on Sept. 25. Le joined PROMMA.INFO’s The INFO radio show this week to discuss his new career.

“I was introduced to Jeremy Bolt by my manger. He is the producer of Resident Evil. He said there was an Asian lead that they were looking to cast. They had not found a Japanese character yet as they originally wrote it. So they opened it up to all Asian actors. This gave me about a month to get ready.”

From sniper, to SWAT, to the cage, Bruce Connors has faced it all

Bruce Connors is a SWAT team member.

Bruce Connors is a former Marine scout sniper and current law enforcement officer and SWAT officer. Bruce joined The INFO on the recent episode and shared his thoughts on maintaining a balance between serving his community and serving his goals as a professional athlete.

This makes competing in the Mixed Martial Arts arena seem docile by comparison. “I am either working or I am training,” said Connors. “You feel pretty selfish because it takes you away from your family and friends. The pressure can be there but as long as you keep a balance, everything can work.”

Jay Hieron ready for Strikeforce title regardless of Nick Diaz

Photo by: Eddie Constantine - Jay Hieron knows his day in the sun is coming.

In Jay Hieron’s recent appearance on The INFO, the official PROMMA.INFO podcast, he spoke about his next fight being for the Strikeforce Welterweight Title. “My next fight is for the title,” Hieron said. “I need eight weeks to prepare and be sharp. I want to fight Nick Diaz if everything goes to plan.”

Hieron said one of the reasons he chose to sign with the San Jose based promotion was because they offered him the title shot. “One of the reasons to decide to go with Strikeforce was I was fighting for the title,” Hieron explained. The UFC offered me a very good deal but I wanted the chance to fight for a title. Nick Diaz is a big name and that’s the type of guy I want to fight right now.”

That title shot was supposed to come on Aug. 15 at “Strikeforce: Carano vs. Cyborg” where Hieron was scheduled to face Nick Diaz. However, Diaz chose not to take his pre-fight drug screen and was replaced by Jessie Taylor. Not only did Hieron not get a title fight, his fight with Taylor was moved to the un-aired preliminary card.
