The Brazilian mixed martial artist Junior dos Santos has expressed his sentiments to show that he is innocent of any drug-related claims that led to his elimination from the UFC 215. Junior dos Santos was removed from the scheduled UFC 215 bout as soon as the USADA announced about allegations that he failed the drug test. Even with sports book odds for UFC fights already taking shape, his management team has categorically denied any unlawful activity, which dos Santos will prepare himself to defend himself and prove his innocence.

The 33-year-old fighter in the heavyweight division failed the USADA test with only a few weeks to go before his scheduled against Francis Ngannou. Using his social media accounts, including Instagram, to proclaim his innocence, JDS posted a message to all his fans and continued to claim that he wouldn’t cheat and thanked them for their steadfast support.

His message articulated opened with a strong point that he owes no one any explanation because he is not guilty of any wrongdoing as far as he is concerned. He assured his fans that they will together push through this period with the aim of revealing the truth in the end. He reassured everyone that amid all the happenings, he still respects all his supporters and authorities even though this is just the beginning of tough times for him, his team, and family. He is now focused on finding the roots of the truth so that he can reveal to the world about the happenings, learning a lesson and moving on from it.

Despite the heavy doping cloud hanging around him, Junior dos Santos remains hopeful that he will meet Francis Ngannou in the near future so that he fulfills his promise of displaying an entertaining fight as expected by his fans. However much dos Santos denies using any illegal drugs, the Brazilian artist was marked for enhancing his performance using hydrochlorothiazide, which refers to a diuretic that athletes have time and again used to conceal PED. He could be clean because he does not have any doping history in his UFC career.

On the other hand, Francis Ngannou remains one of the most admired fighters of the UFC heavyweight division. He trounced his first five fighters in his UFC career and so far, he has managed to bag nine straight wins in the UFC. Out of the 10 wins in his UFC career, Ngannou fished all of them by stoppage, with his two latest bout ending with a hard-earned triumph against extremely tough opponents, including former champ Andrei Arlovski and Anthony Hamilton. He has had first-round wins, along with three less-than-two-minute wins, which makes the Cameroonian-French mixed martial artist a worthy opponent against the former champ.

The most recent bout for Dos Santos was against Stipe Mioric, the UFC heavyweight champion, who ended up beating the Brazilian with a first-round TKO. However, he has recorded wins over Frank Mir, Mark Hunt and Ben Rothwell. So far in his professional career in the UFC, DOS Santos is 18-5. When the UFC learnt about the positive drug test, they offered a statement that a new opponent would be selected for Francis Ngannou.
