Floyd Mayweather appeared on Eminem’s SiriusXM channel Shade 45 in an exclusive interview on DJ Whoo Kid’s Whoolywood Shuffle. Floyd talked about the boxing match that seems destined to happen between boxing’s best and MMA’s top man, Conor McGregor.

Mayweather will look at the negotiation terms when he gets home. “I mean, once I get back to Las Vegas, to my hub, we’ll find out how everything plays out,” he said. “You know, I’ll communicate with Al [Haymon]. I’ll communicate with Leonard Ellerbe. We’ll sit down and see what we can come up with and hopefully the McGregor fight can be made.”

As far as Conor’s chances in what would be his pro boxing debut, Mayweather acknowledged his power and said, “This is a boxing match, he’s a hell of a stand up fighter, I can’t take that away from him. … Only time McGregor has been defeated was when he was on the ground. When he was standing up, he always was victorious. He’s a power puncher, he’s a tough competitor, I’m a tough competitor, and we have to go out there and give the world and the fans what they want to see: excitement.”

Floyd can certainly sell a fight but do you really think he respects Conor’s stand up game or is he playing the promoter here? Does it even matter? The fight will likely happen and the boxing and MMA worlds will collide like never before. In the end, we all win.

DJ Whoo Kid’s exclusive interview with Floyd Mayweather will air in its entirety on Eminem’s SiriusXM channel Shade 45 (channel 45 on satellite radios and on the SiriusXM app) Saturday, May 27, between noon and 6 pm ET.
