mayweather vs mcgregor

UFC President Dana White was a guest on The Ryen Russillo Show to promote UFC 211 and gave an update on the Conor McGregor-Floyd Mayweather boxing match currently in the works. White still believes the deal will get done but the September date they were hoping for is now off the table due to a boxing PPV match between Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez taking the date. White takes full responsibility for the hold-up in negotiations, saying with McGregor recently having a baby, he hasn’t had the chance to hash out terms on their end.

“September is the date we wanted, we dragged our feet, we’ve taken too long and a great fight slid into that spot,” White admitted. “Life moves on man, nobody waits, nobody waits for anything. Things pop up, you know, you didn’t see a big fight coming but these guys made a big fight with Triple-G and Canelo and good for them.”

Asked who’s fault it was that they got beat on the September date, White took the blame for he and Conor.

“Actually it’s not Mayweather’s fault,” White answered. “It’s actually our fault on our side. We haven’t got our stuff together, meaning me and Conor haven’t got our stuff together and we blew the date, so, whaddaya gonna do?”

Why there is a hold-up with Conor and Dana’s negotiations regarding the Mayweather are not specifically known, but rumor has it could have something to do with that 50/50 split we heard about.
