After suffering a loss to Andre Soukhamthath in their CES MMA Bantamweight Championship bout, Kody Nordby enlisted the help of top New England heavyweight Greg Rebello. Kody returns to action for CES MMA 38 on Friday night, LIVE on AXS TV Fights, and the former title challenger is excited to show off his improvements.

How have your preparations been going for this fight?

Really good. I’ve been working a lot with Greg Rebello, who’s pretty much my head coach now. I’ve really switched everything up, going to Sityodtong Boston and Tri-Force MMA. I’m in there with really good guys like Rob Font, who’s getting ready for UFC 204, and Calvin Kattar, who also fights Friday for CES MMA. So many other great guys. All of my training partners and coaches are awesome. I’m really excited to put it all together on Fight Night!

What type of impact have these changes had on your game?

A huge impact, and I’m ready to show it. Before I didn’t have any structure; now I’m here in these great schools, with amazing training. I’m usually not really a guy who likes to predict my fights. I’m just excited to put all my training on display.

In light of the changes you’ve made in your training, does that change your expectations for the rest of your career moving forward?

No doubt. Just being in the room with these high-level guys and seeing the difference between real training and what I was doing, has been awesome. I’m honored. I learn from every guy in there. All of these guys are so smart, and they’re all giving me work. If I had this structure before, I’d bet I’d be undefeated.
