anderson Silva vs chris weidman-hold title

Chris Weidman spoke to MMA Fighting about the loss of his championship to Luke Rockhold back at UFC 194 in December, 2015. It has steadily eaten away at him since then and his uncharacteristic trash talk confirms this. Check out what he said about the loss and how he feels right now about their impending rematch.

I’ve taken situations (injuries)… and gotten through it…. I thought it was gonna be another day like that and I was wrong. I feel like he’s cocky and I gave him a bigger head and gave him something to be even more cocky about. It sucks for me. I’ve gotta suck it up. I got a chance to deflate the head. That’s the goal. I have to go back in there and feed him some humble pie. There’s no question in my mind that I’m gonna go out there and make a statement, completely dominate him and make sure everybody knows the last fight was a fluke.

Rockhold has been outspoken in his belief that Chris’s wins over Anderson Silva, while impressive, are not the caliber required to defeat him. Of course, Luke is never afraid to speak his mind and if you want proof of that just look up some videos of the pre-fight talk with Michael Bisping.

UFC 199 in California will be the proving grounds for these two middleweights in their anticipated rematch, which will serve as the main event. Luke is a West Coast boy and it’s essentially, according to him, his home turf.

Who do you think wins the rematch?
